National Breastfeeding Week:The Powerful Story Of How Our Bodies Make Exactly What Our Child Needs

You as a person are just as important as your child. It doesn’t have to be a choice between breastfeeding and taking care of yourself. - Leslie Southard

Not all breastfeeding journeys are the same and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to nursing your baby. Because it comes differently for every woman, it’s important to have someone you can turn to for resources when you’re not sure if things are working correctly, you’re wondering if you can have that glass of wine or you just need to know if taking medication is going to harm your small child.

Today’s episode is with my friend Leslie Southard, a mama, wife, certified lactation consultant and licensed pharmacist. She shares about her journey with breastfeeding her four year old daughter and how the unique challenges she faced had a profound impact on her passion for educating other lactating mamas. Leslie’s mission is to provide up-to-date, evidence-based information regarding medication use during pregnancy and/or lactation. Her passion is to educate breastfeeding moms so they are able to make educated decisions regarding their health while reaching their breastfeeding goals.
